PNB announces 5.25 sen in income distribution for ASBAmanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), the wholly-owned unit trust management firm of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), has announced that, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023, it will distribute 5.25 sen per unit as total income for its flagship fund, Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB).

One unit of bonus (1.00 sen) plus four units of income distribution (4.25 sen) make up the entire distribution.

10.8 million ASB unitholders will profit from the RM9.3 billion total distribution, the company stated in a statement today.

Bernama reported, according to PNB, ASB continues to surpass Maybank’s benchmark 12-month fixed deposit rate, offering attractive and also sustainable returns.

The number of ASB accounts climbed by more than 200,000 to 10.8 million in 2023, demonstrating the sustained trust that Bumiputeras have in ASB as a crucial tool for saving and investing in their financial planning.

“Despite the volatile market conditions, PNB has consistently delivered competitive returns through our fixed-price funds, all of which have outperformed their benchmark over the years.

“Therefore, people are encouraged to continue saving for the long term and a secure future,” said PNB group chairman Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda.

According to him, PNB has 15.6 million accounts as of October 2023, that is up from 15.2 million the previous year.

“The sustained popularity of our unit trust products was evident through the findings from the 2023 RinggitPlus Malaysian Financial Literacy Survey (RMFLS), with ASNB products maintaining their position as the most popular investment choice,” he said.

The Ministry of Finance predicts that robust domestic consumption, infrastructure spending, and also a recovery in the tourism industry will all contribute to Malaysia’s economy’s 4.0% growth in 2023.

In comparison to the second quarter of 2023 (2.9 percent), Malaysia’s economy grew by 3.3% in the third quarter of 2023 (3Q 2023).
