Malaysia is taking strong action to address the issues of graduate unemployment and underemployment as the demand for industrial training placements soars. Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp), the nation’s national industrial training agency, has reaffirmed its commitment to creating and executing thorough, organized internship frameworks.
This dedication was demonstrated at the recent MySIP Appreciation Award as TalentCorp that was acknowledged by Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud. Furthermore, the efforts spearheaded the program, which now includes Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students.
Furthermore, one of the main strategies we use to prepare our students for the workforce is internship training. It is impossible to overestimate the value of taking part in a structured internship program as it is a strong incentive to bring out the best in our young talent, he added.
Through TalentCorp, the Human Resources Ministry is now examining the specifics of the proposed National Industrial Training Policy in an effort to improve the internship experience even further. Furthermore, with the help of this policy, companies will be able to provide a safe and healthy work environment, equitable pay, and organized industrial training possibilities.
In 2012, TalentCorp National Structured Internship Programme (MySIP) was launched. Next, this initiative has benefited over 112,000 students and over 600 organizations each year. In addition, TalentCorp introduced mynext by TalentCorp, a one-stop portal that allows MySIP and links companies with possible interns, to better streamline the internship process.
Lastly, talentCorp’s Group CEO, Thomas Mathew, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to empowering and enhancing the talent pool in Malaysia. Lastlt, he declared, “The most essential and sustainable source of talent to support our Malaysia Madani economic aspiration is the talent pool in Malaysia.”
