Malaysia and Singapore are only a bridge away, but their currency exchange rates differ by a substantial 3.5 times. Though the financial benefits of working in Singapore may appear greater, only those who go through the emotional toll are aware of it. Not only could they be losing out on family time, but also possibly jeopardize their health.

As reported by China Press, a worker who made a daily commute from Singapore to Malaysia is said to have passed away in the company’s toilet due to overwork.

The posting mentioned that the colleague was found with a blackened head and discoloured pupils. As none of the people at the scene knew CPR, he (the original poster) immediately searched online for CPR emergency procedures and attempted to revive the colleague hoping that his efforts could save him.

While doing so, he urged his colleague not to ‘sleep’ as Hari Raya was soon approaching.

Seeing the original poster’s tireless efforts, the supervisor became concerned that he might grow weary and proposed assigning someone else to perform CPR. Everyone put forth a lot of effort to save their colleague, trying to pull him away from certain death until emergency personnel showed up and transported him to the hospital.

Unfortunately, the supervisor later brought news from the hospital that the resuscitation efforts had failed, and the colleague had passed away.

He (the original poster) revealed that the colleague, in his lifetime, commuted daily between Singapore and Malaysia for work and likely passed away due to too much stress.

In the midst of the day-to-day struggles to make ends meet, they urged everyone to prioritize their health and not push themselves too hard.
