New Veteran MyWIRA Programme Helps ATM Retirees Find Jobs

YB Tuan Steven Sim, Minister of Human Resources under the Government of Malaysia At a ceremony that was held in Penang on the 22nd of January 2024 (Tuesday), Chee Keong made the announcement that the MyWIRA Veterans Initiative would be launched. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the MyWIRA Veterans Career Continuation Programme.

More than 650 invited guests participated in the activity, which was organised in conjunction with the Ministry of Human Resources and the Ministry of Defence. These visitors included ATM PERHEBAT trainees, ATM retirees, and industry participants such as financial institutions.

According to a post on Facebook made by the Ministry of Human Resources, the MyWIRA Veterans Initiative is designed to assist retirees of the Armed Forces of Malaysia (ATM) in improving their abilities and, as a result, acquiring new occupations that are more suitable for them once they retire. 

Moreover, Minister YB Tuan Steven Sim stated that the MyWIRA Veteran programme is consistent with the MADANI economic framework’s premise of meaningful employment. This was said in connection with the plan.

“In addition, it is in line with the three basic incentives he has implemented in the ministry, namely, strengthening worker welfare, improving skills, and increasing labour productivity.” he went on to say.
