Steven Sim is Malaysia's new Human Resources Minister

Steven Sim has been appointed as Human Resources Minister. At the same time, V. Sivakumar, who had previously served in that capacity, has been removed from the Cabinet.

Before Steven Sim took over, V. Sivakumar served as the Human Resources Minister for a year since 2022.

Since December 2022, V. Sivakumar served as the Human Resources Minister in the administration of the Unity Government, working under the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

During the cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, 12 December, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim elevated Steven Sim to full minister. Also, the new Human Resources Minister had previously served as the Deputy Finance Minister II.

Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohammad will fill the new Human Resources Deputy Minister position. He was previously the Works Deputy Minister.

Lim Hui Ying, who had previously served as the Education Deputy Minister, has taken up the position of Deputy Finance Minister II, previously held by Sim.

In the meantime, Wong Kah Woh, who had previously served as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), has been appointed Education Deputy Minister.
