Surfshark has issued its fourth annual Digital Quality of Life Index (DQL) survey, which ranks 117 countries, or 92% of the world population, on five essential digital life pillars.
The five pillars are:

Internet affordability: How long people have to work to afford a stable internet connection. The affordability of the internet connection directly impacts its accessibility.

Internet quality: How fast and stable the internet connectivity in a country is and how well it’s improving. The quality of internet connectivity greatly depends on its speed and stability.

Electronic infrastructure: How well developed and inclusive a country’s existing electronic infrastructure is. Highly functional e-infrastructure enables people to use the internet on a daily for various purposes.

Electronic security: How safe and protected people feel in a country. E- security shows a country’s readiness to counter any cybercrimes and its commitment to protect everyone’s online privacy.

Electronic government: How advanced and digitised a country’s government services are.
