As a kind of assistance for the Eid holiday, state civil servants in Penang will receive a minimum of RM1,000, which is equivalent to half a month’s wage.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced in a statement that the administration and teachers of Islamic religious schools, as well as the teachers and staff of private Chinese schools in Penang, would each get RM300. This was in addition to the private Chinese schools.
According to him, it is anticipated that a total of 7,066 civil officials in Penang will be receiving the assistance.
“The aid will be disbursed from March 19 and is estimated to involve a total allocation of RM7.81 million by the state government,” he said.
“This aid will also be extended to local authorities, statutory bodies, and state government subsidiaries.”
The assemblyman from Padang Kota stated that the assistance was a show of appreciation from the state to civil officials for their dedication to achieving the state government’s 2030 goal, which is intended to drive economic growth and enhance the quality of life.
