According to Dimsum Daily, Hong Kong actor Vinci Wong has filed for bankruptcy at the city’s High Court.

The hearing is set for January 21 of the next year, and the filing was made on December 13.

According to Hong Kong media sites, a credit company recently attempted to collect on the 54-year-old actor for HK$2.93 million (RM1.68 million).

In a statement released on Monday, December 16, Wong acknowledged the bankruptcy filing and stated that the decision was reached following extensive deliberation and stakeholder input.

The former TVB star, however, chose not to comment on rumors regarding the financial agency’s debt collection activities.

He asked everyone to allow him time and space to deal with everything, saying, “As the case has now entered legal proceedings, I’m unable to provide any further comments.”

Wong is not given up hope, even though he is certain that a difficult trip lies ahead.

“I will continue facing it with strength and positivity,” he continued.
