Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg has announced that state public personnel in Sarawak will be eligible for a bonus that will last for two months this year.

As a token of appreciation for the achievements and dedication of the civil service, he stated that the bonus will be distributed next month.

Additionally, he stated that federal public officials in Sarawak would get a bonus of RM700, which will be handed out during the first quarter of the year 2025.

“We also appreciate the contributions of federal civil servants serving in Sarawak,” he said in his winding-up speech at the state legislative assembly on Wednesday (Nov 20).

RM190 million will be the entire amount that will be paid out in incentive payments to civil officials working for both the state and the federal government.

Additionally, Abang Johari stated that beginning in January, the state government will begin providing state civil personnel with special monthly allowances.

He stated that this would result in an increase in their salary that would be in accordance with the new Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) implemented by the Federal Government, which will also be implemented by Sarawak.

According to the various salary classifications in the public service, the monthly allowances might range anywhere from RM400 to RM700.
