No one knows a job better than those who perform it, and every job has advantages and disadvantages—some more than others. This prompted Yahoo Finance and Insider Monkey to search the internet for the true solution to the happiest work.
Insider Monkey and Yahoo Finance did this by concentrating on three critical factors, the degree of autonomy employees have, the work-life balance of a job, and how meaningful people find their work.
Here are the five happiest jobs in the world:

1. Social worker
It may surprise some people to learn that social workers have the happiest jobs. It seems like a completely normal occupation, after all.
According to the National Association of Social Workers, “there were more than 708,000 social work jobs in 2021,” and this number is predicted to rise over the following ten years, indicating how popular social work is. But there’s a reason it’s a popular stance.
Insider Monkey states, “Despite the challenges, the sense of fulfillment derived from positively impacting society contributes largely to the happiness of social workers, making it the happiest job in the world.”
“Making a tangible difference in the well-being of others can be deeply fulfilling,” they continued, adding that the variation in tasks and “opportunity to work with diverse populations” keeps the position engaging.
2. Art therapist
Art therapists, who use artistic methods to assist clients in finding healing, are among the less well-known professions on the happiest jobs list. This allows the art therapists to express their creativity.
Art therapists observe their clients’ experiences and see how they continue to improve, just like any other therapist would. Per Insider Monkey, “The ability to facilitate personal growth and healing through artistic expression fosters a profound sense of fulfillment.”
The fact that this position is very uncommon is a drawback for those who are fresh to the workforce.There are roughly five thousand members of the American Art Therapy Association. Raja Aossey, an art therapist, told the Bureau of Labor Statistics that finding a job can be challenging unless you’re willing to be flexible with your search.
It’s likely that some of the most well-known household names in the world will spring to mind when someone mentions “musician.” But that’s a really limited definition of what a musician can be.
Being a musician doesn’t require you to be the next Michael Jackson. Maybe you write, teach, or play a classical instrument. Regardless of the specifics, Insider Monkey said that because musicians are frequently self-employed, they offer excellent flexibility and work-life balance.
“Musicians derive happiness from their ability to evoke emotions, inspire others, and create beauty through their craft,” they said.
4. Professor
The versatility teachers have in their jobs might surprise many. They are frequently perceived as merely educators, although they have the opportunity to learn more about their chosen field through research, instruction, and other activities.
“Contributing to the advancement of knowledge and witnessing students’ growth and development provide intrinsic rewards,” Insider Monkey said.
You might want to pursue entrepreneurship if you’re looking for a profession that allows you the most autonomy possible. Entrepreneurs launch their companies to close whatever gaps they perceive in society.
Entrepreneurship “offers unparalleled freedom, fulfillment, and the opportunity to pursue one’s passions,” according to Insider Monkey. More people look to take charge of their work lives and accomplish what they really want. So, this job has been more and more popular in recent years.
