Auntie Anne’s Malaysia in Mid Valley will be closed for comprehensive sanitation and also cleaning, according to the pretzel store. This move was made in reaction to a social media post that soon went viral, featuring a staff member kissing pretzel dough.

Following the occurrence, the staff member, who had previously worked at the Kuala Lumpur location, was terminated immediately, according to an announcement made by Auntie Anne’s Malaysia.

“At Auntie Anne’s Malaysia, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and safety for our customers and staff. We do not condone or tolerate any actions that compromise these standards,” it said in a Facebook post on Oct 8.

“As part of our proactive measures, the outlet in question will be temporarily closed for thorough disinfection and cleaning,” it added.

It was said that the outlet would reopen once the process of disinfection had been finished and all of the relevant safety standards had been verified.

Furthermore, it gave clients the assurance that their safety and well-being will always be the company’s top concern.
