UPUonline applications for public universities starts today

Applications for foundation, certificate, diploma, and degree programs at public higher education institutions for the 2024–2025 academic year will be accepted online at UPUonline starting on 29 Feb and closing on 29 Mar for first phase applications and also 29 Apr–9 Jun for phase two applications.

Applications is open for admission to 20 public universities, 36 polytechnics, 105 community colleges, and four public skills training institutions (ILKA). This is according to a statement released by the Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) on Wednesday, 28 Feb.

For the first phase of the application, applications are open for all academic programs. Thus, holders of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or those with equal credentials can apply. Moreover, for the second phase of the application is only for programs without interviews or tests.

“All qualified candidates are invited to seize this opportunity to pursue higher education.

“A total of 503 study programmes are offered to SPM graduates, and 1,111 study programmes are offered to STPM/equivalent graduates by public universities, polytechnics, community colleges, and ILKAs nationwide,” the statement continued.

Moreover, the Ministry stated in the same announcement public may obtain UPUOnline PIN number at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN). There are 350 branch counters, 700 BSN automated teller machines (ATMs), and also myBSN Internet banking available.

“BSN will issue the PIN number along with a copy of the payment receipt. Applicants are also requested to ensure that the payment slip is kept for reference as proof of a valid purchase”, the statement read.
